Support Rifles

The support gunner role: huge magazine capacity, sustained fire, and the team responsibility of keeping heads down while the rest of the squad moves.

Airsoft support weapons replicate the real-steel light machine gun and squad automatic weapon roles. Mechanically they're still AEGs — same gearbox families, same battery requirements — but with two distinguishing features: high-capacity box magazines (typically 1,500-3,000 rounds, often electrically-driven hopper-feeds) and the longer, heavier barrel and bipod configurations that suit sustained-fire roles.

Common platforms we stock: M249 / FN Minimi (the SAW used by US and many NATO forces), MK46 (the shortened SOF variant of the M249), M60 (the older 7.62 GPMG-pattern), and occasional RPK releases (the AK-pattern support weapon). Brands vary by platform — A&K and Classic Army cover most of the support-weapon market with affordable entry-level builds; G&G does more refined M249 variants; KRYTAC and KWA cover some specialist releases.

Two practical things to know. First: support weapons are heavy — a fully-loaded M249 with battery weighs around 4-5kg. That changes how you play. Sustained fire from prone or behind cover suits the role; being the squad runner does not. Second: many UK sites restrict the support role at game level — some sites only allow specific players to run support weapons; some cap support weapon FPS lower than regular AEGs; some require a separate chrono to verify ROF caps. Check site rules before buying. Magazines, box mag spares, and the heavier LiPo batteries these rifles need are stocked separately.

💡 Titan Forge tip: Most support gunners burn through BBs faster than any other role on the team. Plan on running the support weapon from a 6,000R bulk bag rather than the standard 2,200R bags — see the ammo collection for bulk options.
