Airsoft suppressors don't suppress — they extend. They're tubes that screw onto the muzzle, look the part, and sometimes house a longer inner barrel inside.

An airsoft suppressor is mechanically different from a real-steel suppressor. A real suppressor traps and slows the expanding gas from a firing cartridge to reduce sound signature. An airsoft suppressor has nothing to suppress — the compressed-air or spring-driven BB doesn't produce a meaningful sound signature in the first place. What airsoft suppressors do is finish the rifle's aesthetic (most modern carbine builds look incomplete without one) and provide hollow space for extending the inner barrel beyond the outer barrel, which improves hop-up consistency and accuracy.

Two main suppressor types cover the airsoft market. Mock suppressors are hollow aluminium or steel tubes that screw onto the 14mm CCW thread (M4-pattern) or 14mm CW thread (AK-pattern) of the outer barrel. They contain nothing inside — pure cosmetic. Barrel-extension suppressors are designed to house a tightbore inner barrel that's longer than the rifle's outer barrel — pop the suppressor off, swap to a longer inner barrel, and the suppressor becomes both a cosmetic muzzle device and a functional accuracy upgrade. Sizes and styles range from compact 4-inch CQB suppressors through 9-inch tactical lengths up to 12-inch sniper-style suppressors. Match the length to your build — a 12-inch suppressor on a 7-inch CQB rifle is visually unbalanced. 💡 Titan Forge tip: If the suppressor is purely cosmetic, save money — a £20 mock suppressor looks just as good on the rifle as a £100 one once it's screwed on. Spend the difference on a tightbore inner barrel that extends inside the suppressor. The accuracy improvement is measurable; the visual difference between suppressor brands is nil from 10 feet away.
