Thread Adaptors

Airsoft outer barrels come in two main thread standards: 14mm CCW (counter-clockwise tightening) for M4-pattern rifles and most modern platforms, and 14mm CW (clockwise tightening) for AK-pattern rifles and a few specific designs. The two aren't interchangeable — a CCW suppressor will start threading onto a CW barrel and either bind, cross-thread, or simply not seat. Thread adaptors are the small £5-10 parts that bridge the gap, letting you run a CCW muzzle device on a CW barrel (or vice versa) without replacing the entire outer barrel.

Common adaptor types. 14mm CCW to 14mm CW is the most-purchased — usually for running an M4-style flash hider on an AK platform, or vice versa. 14mm CCW to 24mm for some specific suppressor mounts. Knurled-shank adaptors are designed to be permanently installed and provide a finished aesthetic. Pistol thread adaptors convert specific pistol muzzle threading to standard airsoft 14mm, which lets you fit airsoft suppressors and tracer units onto GBB pistols that wouldn't normally accept them.

Compatibility check before buying. Confirm your existing barrel thread direction (look at the muzzle end — the threads should be visible). Confirm the muzzle device thread direction (usually printed on the listing). The adaptor needs to match both.
