Caps & Headwear

From a Titan Forge cap to a full FAST helmet. Headwear is the smallest visible part of a loadout and the part that most clearly signals what kind of player you are.

Head protection in airsoft serves two purposes that don't always overlap. Practical protection for the skull against ricochets, low-hanging branches, and the occasional impact when crawling through cover. Visual identity for milsim impressions, brand affiliation, or just the aesthetic the player wants the rifle to be paired with. The headwear category covers both ends — from utility baseball caps and beanies up to full FAST-pattern airsoft helmets.

Three main categories. FAST helmets (Future Assault Shell Technology pattern) are the modern military-style helmet replicated for airsoft — moulded ABS shell, accessory rails, padded liner, NVG mount on the front. Used for force-on-force training, milsim impressions, and CQB where head impacts are more likely. Bump caps and ballcaps are the lighter middle option — rigid baseball-cap shape with internal padding, full head coverage without the helmet's weight or thermal cost. Casual caps and boonies are the safe-zone wear — Titan Forge branded ballcaps, neutral boonie hats for sun protection at outdoor games, beanies and watch caps for cold-weather play.

FAST helmet considerations. Real-steel FAST helmets are bulletproof composites costing £400+; airsoft FAST helmets are ABS or polypropylene replicas costing £40-80. Both look the same but only the real ones stop ballistic threats — airsoft replicas are for BB impacts and visual identity. Accessory rails allow mounting BB-rated accessory clips, dummy NVG mounts, action camera mounts, and ID lighting. For face protection that integrates with helmets via clip-on shrouds, see the dedicated collection.

💡 Titan Forge tip: If you're putting on a helmet for the first time at a game day, do a head-up mirror check before the game starts. Helmets shift your eye-line up, change cheek-weld on your rifle's stock, and add weight that affects how you scan corners. The first 30 minutes of helmet use feels weird and reduces rifle handling significantly — practise at home before relying on it in-game.
