The M4/AR-15 platform is the most popular AEG configuration in UK airsoft for good reason — it's intuitive to handle, ergonomically well-sorted for most players, and has the most comprehensive aftermarket support of any airsoft platform. When you want to upgrade a part, replace something, or have a tech work on the gearbox, every component is a standard, widely available Tokyo Marui-spec part. The CM.513 is built on exactly this foundation, meaning it starts as a great beginner rifle and can grow with you as your interest in the sport develops.
The most distinctive thing about the CM.513 externally is the integral suppressor aesthetic. Rather than a bare outer barrel or a conventional flash hider, the rifle features a polymer suppressor body that wraps around the 5-inch alloy outer barrel and covers the 280mm 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel. The result is a compact, stealthy-looking rifle that performs like a carbine-length setup — long enough inner barrel for good consistent range, short enough overall that CQB corners and tight terrain are manageable. The suppressor attaches via 14mm CCW threading and can be removed and replaced with a tracer unit or muzzle device of your choice, though because the inner barrel runs close to the suppressor length, a barrel extension of approximately 7 inches is needed to mount a tracer properly.
Inside, CYMA have equipped the CM.513 with components that are meaningfully better than budget AEG basics. The alloy V2 gearbox shell runs 18:1 ratio steel gears on 8mm steel bushings — these are the dimensions and spec that aftermarket upgrade parts are designed around, and they deliver better durability than plastic-bushing equivalents. A type 1 cylinder, reinforced polymer compression parts, and a quick-change spring system complete the internal picture. The 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel provides above-average out-of-the-box accuracy, and the updated rotary hop-up unit is the modern standard for M4 AEG platforms — easier to adjust, more consistent, and more compatible with aftermarket hop rubbers than the older fixed-arm style.
What's on the outside
The CM.513 arrives with a 20mm Picatinny quad-railed RIS handguard covering the suppressor — 20mm rails at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions, ready for a vertical grip, angled foregrip, tactical torch, or laser. The upper receiver is also 20mm railed and comes with a set of flip-up iron sights pre-fitted, which fold flat when you mount a red dot or scope and provide a usable backup if you don't. The adjustable crane stock houses the battery compartment — accessible by removing the stock from the buffer tube or via the butt plate. It accepts crane-style or nunchuck NiMH batteries up to 9.6V, or 7.4V LiPo batteries in the same form factor. The Deans (T-plug) connector is fitted as standard — a meaningfully better connector than the mini-Tamiya typically found on budget AEGs, with lower resistance and better contact reliability.

Good to know before you buy
The CM.513 is a polymer-bodied rifle — the receiver, handguard, stock, iron sights, and suppressor are all polymer. This isn't a compromise unique to this price point: many premium airsoft rifles use the same materials because high-density polymer is lighter, more impact-resistant in cold temperatures, and easier to manufacture to tight tolerances than die-cast alloys. What matters in an AEG is the gearbox, gears, and barrel — and on all three counts the CM.513 is properly equipped. The V2 alloy gearbox shell, steel gears, and steel bushings are the spec you'd find in rifles costing two or three times as much. The 6.03mm tightbore and rotary hop-up put it ahead of many competitors at the same price.
One thing to set expectations on: the included hi-cap magazine uses a wheel-wind feeding mechanism. This is standard at this price point and works perfectly well, but some players prefer mid-cap magazines for more realistic play. The CM.513 takes any standard M4 / STANAG AEG magazine — mid-caps, low-caps, and drum mags all fit.
