Carbon-fibre suppressor tubes are light, but their stiffness makes them resonate — the metallic "ping" that gives away the shot. The Strike Carbon felt-baffle system is the answer: a stack of formed felt discs sized to drop straight into a 38mm ID tube, replacing metal or plastic baffles entirely. The result is a noticeably softer, deeper "thud" instead of the bright crack of an empty carbon tube.
The stack uses two distinct shapes that work together. The small-hole washer discs sit perpendicular to the bore and present a felt surface for the air pulse to strike and slow against. The hex-cut spacer discs sit between washers and create expansion chambers where the air can spread out before reaching the next washer — the gap is what does the work, not just the felt.
Because it's modular, the sequence is yours to tune. A common starting point is to alternate one washer with one hex spacer through the length of the stack. For higher-pressure platforms (HPA in particular), stacking two or three hex spacers near the base gives the initial pulse room to expand before it hits the first washer — quieter still. Worth a few minutes of experimenting once you've installed it.
Three points worth knowing. First: keep the centre holes properly aligned when you stack — a misaligned hole means the BB clips felt on the way through, which tears the disc and ruins accuracy. Second: don't pack the stack tight. The air gaps created by the hex spacers are doing the sound work; crushing them out defeats the system. Third: GBB users should check the felts periodically — silicone oil saturates the felt over time and kills its fluffiness. Replace as needed.
