The BOLT M is a compact engine that lives inside the rifle's cylinder, and the cylinder is the one component doing structural work every time the bolt cycles. Anodising wears, threads pick up damage from a cross-threaded cylinder head, and a dented cylinder will not seal however good the o-rings are.
Buying the cylinder on its own is a great deal cheaper than replacing a whole engine, and it is a job most people can do at the bench with the o-ring kit and an hour. If the engine itself still holds pressure, the cylinder is usually the only part that needs to change.
This is the genuine Wolverine part, not a generic VSR cylinder. The internal diameter and the thread form are specific to the BOLT M assembly — a standard sniper cylinder will not accept the engine.

Frequently asked questions
Will this fit the standard BOLT? No. The BOLT and BOLT M are different assemblies. This is the BOLT M cylinder.
Do I need a new o-ring kit as well? Yes, fit fresh o-rings whenever the engine comes apart. The BOLT M kit is a separate item and costs very little against the risk of a slow leak.
Can I reuse my existing cylinder head? If the head is undamaged and the threads are clean, yes. Check the sealing face for scoring before you rebuild.
