Fleck forged carbon is not painted. The colour isn't a coating applied to the surface after manufacturing — it's integrated into the forged carbon material before the compression moulding process. Coloured fleck material is mixed directly into the carbon and resin matrix, which means it cannot chip, peel, or rub off in the way surface finishes can. The colour is in the material, not on it.

The result is a distinctive finish that looks different under different lighting conditions. Indoors under bright overhead lights, the fleck pattern reads clearly — the colour catches light differently to the dark carbon background. Outdoors, the contrast is subtler, with the colour visible but the carbon texture remaining the dominant visual element. In photographs, the fleck tends to read more dramatically than it does in person, which is worth knowing if you're making a colour decision based on product photos.
