G&G RK74-CQB — the AK platform with the modern features that used to be M4-only. Factory ETU and inline MOSFET, a 25,000rpm motor and a KeyMod handguard.

The AK is instantly recognisable and has been in service somewhere in the world for over fifty years, but the standard airsoft version has always asked you to give something up: no rail space, a fixed stock, and a trigger that feels its age. The RK74 family exists to fix that, borrowing the modernised features seen on Russian special forces rifles rather than leaving the platform in 1974.

The specification is where it separates itself. A G&G version 3 gearbox with a factory electronic trigger unit gives noticeably faster trigger response than mechanical contacts, and a factory-fitted inline MOSFET protects the electronics and lets you run higher-output batteries safely. Neither is common on an AK at this price, and both are things people usually pay a tech to add.

Behind that sits an 8mm reinforced gearbox and a 25,000rpm high-torque motor. Externally you get a 5-inch aluminium KeyMod handguard that also carries Picatinny, an adjustable stock, a modern ergonomic grip, and an integrated 20mm rail on the dust cover — which solves the perennial AK problem of having nowhere sensible to mount an optic.

The CQB length makes it a genuinely quick gun indoors while keeping the AK handling that people buy the platform for in the first place.

Good to know before you buy

Out of stock at present — ask us for a lead time. The factory ETU and MOSFET mean it runs higher-voltage batteries safely out of the box, which is not true of most stock AKs. You will need a battery, charger, BBs and magazines.

Frequently asked questions

What does the ETU actually give me?
Faster and more consistent trigger response than mechanical contacts, and the contacts themselves stop burning out — which is how most stock gearboxes eventually fail.

Can I run an 11.1V battery?
The factory inline MOSFET is there specifically to protect the electronics and allow higher-output batteries. Confirm the fit of your specific pack with us first.

Where does an optic mount?
On the integrated 20mm rail on the dust cover, which is a far better solution than the side-rail mounts older AKs relied on.

Does it take standard AK magazines?
It is built on the RK74 platform. Send us the magazines you already own and we will confirm before you order.

Do I need UKARA?
This is a RIF, so we will need to see a valid UKARA entry or another accepted defence before it ships. Details are in the notice below.

UKARA required: As a realistic imitation firearm, this product requires UKARA registration or a valid defence. We verify at checkout. Register by playing 3 games over 56+ days at Skirmish Wycombe Airsoft.
