There are two ways to make an AR receiver. Billet means cutting it from a solid lump of aluminium, which gives a designer freedom and a distinctive look. Forged means starting from a hammered 7075 blank — the same process real AR-15s use — and machining it after. The grain structure runs differently and so does the feel in the hand.
Wolverine build both. The Forged Series takes real AR-15 forgings and machines each one to their intrinsically aligned HPA spec, which brings some real-steel details along with it: a forward assist on the upper, a removable trigger guard on the lower, an ambidextrous selector with steel paddles, and a reversible polymer dust cover. The Tactical trim also moves to the Invictus MK2 rail with an MS-2 flash hider and DLG premium furniture.
Performance is the same either way. This is the Tactical XB, so it runs the INFERNO XTS engine and the BLINC Bluetooth board at 80 to 140 PSI, and the 10-inch build uses a 285mm inner barrel behind a 10.3-inch outer. If you want the shorter 7-inch, that only exists in billet.

Frequently asked questions
Is a forged receiver stronger? Forging aligns the grain of the aluminium, which is why real firearms use it. In airsoft service either construction is far beyond what the gun sees — pick the one you prefer the look and feel of.
Does it shoot any differently from the billet? No. Same engine, same board, same pressure window, same barrel lengths where they overlap.
What is an MS-2? Invictus's flash hider for the Forged Tactical trim. The Forged Standard uses an MS-1, and the Billet Tactical uses a 1045 steel hider with a black oxide finish.
Can I get it in 7 inch? Not in forged. Wolverine offer the Forged Series in 10 and 14 inch only — the 7-inch is a billet build.
Will my MTW parts fit? Yes. It is MTW-Spec, so engines, hop bodies and inner barrels interchange, along with standard handguards and a lot of real-steel AR furniture.
