- description
Forged carbon is the manufacturing technique where short carbon strands are mixed with resin, compression-moulded under high pressure, and CNC-machined to final dimensions. The visual result is the distinctive marbled, swirl-pattern finish that makes every piece slightly different. The structural result is a rail with excellent rigidity-to-weight, well-suited to the demands of a competitive build.
At 250mm length and 44mm diameter, this handguard sits on the slim side of the carbon-rail market. Where bulkier oversized rails focus on grip surface and accessory mounting volume, this profile is for builders prioritising rapid handling, comfortable grip-around feel, and tight clearance under support hands. The diameter is small enough to wrap most hand sizes comfortably without a foregrip.
The included 7075 aerospace-grade aluminium barrel nut is matched to the handguard for a secure, wobble-free mount. 7075 is the higher-strength aluminium alloy used in structural aerospace parts — relevant here because the barrel nut takes the full clamping load of the rail and the torque from any muzzle device. Lower-grade alloys can deform under repeated cycles; 7075 stays true.
Shims and a picatinny rail section are supplied in the box. Shims allow fine alignment of the rail relative to the upper receiver during installation, so the rail's top picatinny lines up cleanly with the receiver's rail (essential for any optic that spans the junction). The included rail section lets you mount a hand stop, bipod, or other front accessory immediately without sourcing a separate M-LOK rail.
