A replacement outer barrel is one of the cheapest ways to change how an M4 or AR-15 AEG sits in the hands. Going shorter moves the balance back towards the grip and makes the gun quicker through doorways; going longer fills out a rail and gives a build its full-size silhouette.
All three lengths carry a standard 14mm CCW male thread at the muzzle, so flash hiders, mock suppressors and tracer units all go straight on. The barrel is a single piece rather than a two-part assembly, which means one less joint to work loose.
Fitting is a drop-in job on most AEGs. Some rifles need a little fettling to get the barrel seated and indexed correctly — that is normal across the aftermarket and not a fault with the part.

Check the length your hand guard needs before you order. A barrel shorter than the rail leaves the muzzle buried inside it, which looks wrong and stops you fitting anything to the thread.
