Notch-style rear sights are the airsoft default, but they're not the fastest sight design once you're shooting reactively. Ghost ring sights — a circular rear aperture you align around the front sight rather than into a notch — were developed for combat shotguns precisely because they let your eye find the front sight faster under stress. Direct drop-in replacement for the factory rear sight. The aperture is sized to balance two competing needs: large enough that you find the front sight without conscious effort, small enough that it still gives meaningful precision out to mid-range engagement distances.

Why ghost rings work better than they look

Looking at a ghost ring statically, the wide aperture seems too sloppy for accurate shooting. In dynamic use it's the opposite — your eye centres the front sight inside the ring without conscious effort, and your shot consistency goes up because you're not fighting to align fine sight pictures under stress. CQB and reactive shooting are exactly where this kind of sight excels.
