A tracer unit does two separate jobs, and it helps to keep them apart in your head. The first is charging luminous BBs so you can watch where your rounds actually go — that needs green tracer ammunition, because the unit excites the phosphor in the BB rather than generating the trail itself. The second is the flame effect at the muzzle, which is the unit lighting itself up as a round passes, and that works whatever you have loaded. Load standard BBs and you still get the flame.
Gel ball support is the part people miss. Acetech list the Bifrost MKII as compatible with gel BBs alongside standard and green tracer ammunition, which matters if you run a gel blaster as well as an airsoft gun and would rather not buy two units. Intelligent power control handles the thing that kills cheaper units — it manages its own on and off state instead of relying on you remembering a switch, so the cell is not flat when you unpack the bag at a night game.
Charging is over a USB Type-C port, so it takes the same cable as your phone rather than a proprietary lead you will eventually lose. The body is metal, which on a muzzle device matters more than it sounds: it lives at the end of the barrel where it collects knocks from doorframes and gets dropped more often than anything else on the gun.

How does it differ from the standard Bifrost? On Acetech's own product pages, the headline feature set is the same for both: multi-colour flame effect, intelligent power control, standard, tracer and gel BB support, and USB Type-C charging. The MKII is the later revision and is the one Acetech record as patented in the US, Australia and Japan. We are not going to invent a performance gap that the manufacturer does not claim — if you already own a Bifrost that works, this is not an upgrade you need.
Do I need tracer BBs? For the glowing trail, yes — green luminous ones. The muzzle flame runs on any ammunition, so the unit still does half its job without them.
Will it fit my gun? It takes a 14mm counter-clockwise muzzle thread, which is what the large majority of airsoft rifles use. Check whether anything is already fitted that needs removing first, and ask us if you are not certain what thread you have.
Can I use it with gel balls? Acetech list gel BBs as supported alongside standard and tracer ammunition.
