The original AAP-01 ‘Assassin’ rewrote what an airsoft GBB pistol could be — gas-efficient, select-fire, and endlessly upgradable — and it became the default sidearm (and a primary in its own right) for speedsoft players. The AAP-01C ‘Shinobi’ is the compact sibling: the same platform and internals, shortened at the front for a faster, more concealable package.
The C swaps the long barrel for an aggressive compensated front end with a 20mm Picatinny rail, matched by a second rail on the receiver for a red dot — so you can run an optic up top and a tracer or light out front. A redesigned fire selector makes swapping between semi and full-auto easier, and an ambidextrous charging handle and trigger-lock safety keep it usable in either hand. Light-enhancing open sights help in low-light CQB.
Underneath it is pure AAP-01: a 6.03mm tightbore, a gear-adjustable hop-up reached by pulling the upper, and one of the deepest aftermarket parts catalogues of any airsoft pistol. It feeds from Action Army AAP-01 magazines (and Tokyo Marui G-series-spec mags), including 50-round extended and 350-round drum options, so you can set it up for a discreet sidearm or a full-auto primary.
What’s on the outside
The shortened frame carries a compensated front end with a 20mm Picatinny rail, a second rail across the receiver, light-enhancing open iron sights, an ambidextrous charging handle and an ambidextrous trigger-lock safety. The grip panels are discreetly marked ‘Shinobi’ and textured for control. Remove the compensator and the barrel is 14mm CCW threaded for a tracer or mock suppressor.

Good to know before you buy
Full-auto is fun but thirsty — bring plenty of green gas and a spare magazine or two if you plan to run it on auto. The AAP-01 aftermarket is enormous (barrels, slides, triggers, carbine kits), so this is a platform you can keep building. Like all gas guns it loses a little power in the cold; chrono on the day and tune to your site’s limit.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need UKARA to buy this?
Yes — the black AAP-01C is a realistic imitation firearm, so a UKARA registration or another valid defence is required. We check it before dispatch.
Is it really full-auto?
Yes — it’s select-fire with safe, semi and full-auto positions, one of the reasons the AAP-01 is such a popular speedsoft platform.
Which magazines fit?
Action Army AAP-01 gas magazines and Tokyo Marui G-series-spec magazines, including 50-round extended and 350-round drum options. A 23-round green-gas magazine is included.
What gas and FPS?
Green gas as standard (CO2 mags are available), chronographing around 275 FPS with 0.20g — gas- and temperature-dependent, so chrono on the day.
