- description
The part that matters on an AK magazine is the front locking lug. It takes the whole load every time the magazine rocks into the well, and on a polymer magazine it is the first thing to round off after a season of hard reloads. Amarok have made this one stamped steel, which is the single most useful decision in the design.
Capacity is 240 rounds in an impact-resistant polymer body. Inside sits a high-tension spring and an extra-wide loading channel — the channel being the difference between filling 240 rounds in a minute and filling them in five, because a narrow port turns a speedloader into a funnel.
AK magazine fitment is notoriously inconsistent between manufacturers, which is why the UK-supplied version includes an adapter in the box. That widens what it will seat in rather than leaving you to find out. Keep the adapter with the magazine.
Two colourways: Black and Plum. The plum is moulded through the polymer rather than applied, so it will not wear back to black at the edges the way a painted finish does.

Good to know before you buy
The adapter is what broadens the fitment on UK-supplied magazines, so it is worth keeping with the magazine rather than in the box it came in.
240 rounds is a long job by hand. A speedloader is worth having if you buy more than two, and the wide loading channel is designed around using one.
Rock an AK magazine in front-first and let the lug do the work. Pushing it straight up like an M4 magazine is what chews the front edge of the receiver on AK platforms, and it is the most common way players damage both parts.
Frequently asked questions
Will it fit my AK?
The UK version ships with an adapter specifically to widen fitment across AK platforms. We have not tested every AK on the market with it, so if yours is an unusual variant, ask us first.
Is the adapter definitely included?
Yes, on UK-supplied magazines. It is in the box with the magazine.
Why does a steel locking lug matter?
It is the contact point that takes the load on every reload. Polymer lugs round off over time and the magazine starts to sit loose; steel does not.
Is Plum a coating?
No, it is moulded through the polymer. It will not scuff back to a different colour.
Does it need a speedloader?
Not strictly, but 240 rounds by thumb is slow. The loading channel is cut wide to take a speedloader nozzle properly.
