Combat Games Essentials Waterproof Rifle Case — IP67, which is a different claim from weatherproof. Rated against full immersion rather than just spray, with published internal dimensions so you can check your rifle fits before it arrives.

IP ratings get quoted loosely, so it is worth being precise. The second digit is the water one: a 5 means protected against sprayed water from any direction, and a 7 means protected against temporary immersion. In practice IP55 is rain between the car and the safe zone. IP67 is a case you can stand in a wet field at a milsim, put in a boot that leaks, or set down in a puddle without thinking about it.

Getting there costs weight. The large waterproof case is 4.5kg empty against 2.4kg for the basic one, and it is 14cm deep rather than 10.8cm. That is a real difference when you are carrying it, and it is the honest trade: you are buying a seal, and seals need material and clamping force.

The extra depth is not wasted. Internally the large is 94.5cm by 29.5cm by 12.3cm and the extra large is 115cm by 45.4cm by 17cm — the extra large is wide enough to lay a rifle alongside a plate carrier rather than stacking everything on top of itself.

Large comes in black, tan or OD green; extra large is black. Both keep the CGE interlocking shell, the TSA lock cutouts and the egg-shell wave foam inlay.

Good to know before you buy

A sealed case is heavier to carry and heavier to post. If it never leaves a car boot, the basic range does the same job for less money and half the weight.

Padlocks are separate. The cutouts take TSA-pattern locks, and the rifle-sized fittings in our case locks range suit this case.

A good seal keeps moisture in as well as out. If a gun goes away wet, it stays wet — dry the rifle first, and a dehumidifier stone inside is cheap insurance.

Wave foam is fixed-profile. The depth here suits a rifle plus magazines and a headset; awkward shapes still want pick-and-pluck.

Airlines and countries each set their own rules for carrying airsoft guns. The TSA cutouts are there for hold luggage, but confirm with the carrier before you book.

Frequently asked questions

Is IP67 the same as waterproof forever?
It is a rating for temporary immersion, not a diving case. It means rain, a wet field and a leaking boot are not a problem. It does not mean you should store it underwater.

Which size for a rifle with an optic and a suppressor?
Check against the internal figures rather than the external ones. Large gives you 94.5cm of usable length, extra large gives 115cm and is far wider at 45.4cm.

Why is it nearly twice the weight of the basic case?
The seal. A case rated for immersion needs a thicker shell and enough clamping force to hold a gasket closed, and that is where 4.5kg instead of 2.4kg comes from.

Can I get the extra large in tan or green?
Not currently — extra large is black only. The three colours are on the large size.

Does it have a pressure relief valve?
The manufacturer does not publish that, ask us. If you need a valve specifically for flying, tell us and we will point you at a case that states it.

Will it interlock with my basic CGE case?
Yes. The stacking moulding is common across the range, so waterproof and basic cases clip together in any combination.

💡 Titan Forge Airsoft tip: Pick the size off the internal measurements, not the external ones. A shell this thick swallows several centimetres at each end, so measure the rifle with its optic fitted and compare that to the inside of the box rather than the outside. Our hard cases list internals wherever the maker publishes them.
