A Hi-Capa magazine runs out of gas before it runs out of BBs often enough that adding one without the other would be a half measure. This baseplate lengthens the magazine body, which buys four extra rounds and twelve additional grams of gas capacity at the same time.
It is machined from 6061 aluminium and weighs 80.6g, which also makes it the fastest reload aid on the gun — the extended body gives your hand something to grab from any angle when you are pulling a magazine out of a pouch in a hurry. A 180mm reinforced spring is supplied to suit the longer body, along with the screw, gaskets and washers the fit requires.

Good to know before you buy
Designed around Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa magazines. A non-Marui magazine needs a Marui-spec injection valve fitted before this will work, and even then the manufacturer does not guarantee every Hi-Capa brand — that caveat is theirs and we are passing it on rather than softening it.
Fit the supplied 180mm spring, not the original. The standard spring is wound for the standard body length and will not lift reliably through the extra travel.
The gaskets matter. A magazine that holds more gas also has more surface to leak from, so seat them properly rather than hurrying the last step.
It is designed to sit alongside the matching magwell, so the two can be run together.
Frequently asked questions
Will my magazine still fit the pouch?
The body gets longer, so a snug single-magazine pouch may no longer close. Worth measuring before you commit to a set of them.
Does the extra gas actually give more shots?
That is the intent — the usual limit on a Hi-Capa magazine is gas volume rather than BB count, which is why twelve grams is quoted alongside the four rounds.
Can I fit it to a clone magazine?
Only if that magazine carries a Marui-spec injection valve, and the manufacturer stops short of guaranteeing all brands even then. If you tell us which magazine you have we will give you an honest answer.
How many should I buy?
However many magazines you intend to extend — one plate converts one magazine. Mixing extended and standard magazines in the same rig is a reload you have to think about, so most people do the whole set.
