CTM CNC Magwell, Hi-Capa — a flared funnel that adds 24.5g to the frame, pin included. Quoting the weight with the pin in is the honest way to do it.

A magwell earns its place by turning a reload you have to aim into one you can do by feel. This one does that without loading the front of the frame — at 24.5g complete with its pin, it is light enough that the gun’s balance is essentially unchanged.

It is machined from 6061 aluminium and fits with a single pin, which is supplied. Where it gets more interesting is the ecosystem: it is designed to work with the matching magazine extension plate and with the HPA M4 magazine adapter, so if you are already running either of those on a Hi-Capa the parts are meant to sit together.

Good to know before you buy

This is the standard profile magwell. If you want the deeper funnel, the large flared version is a separate part with a different mouth geometry — compare the two before you choose.

Compatibility with the extension plate and the HPA adapter is the reason most people buy this particular one. If you run a line-fed Hi-Capa, that matters: a magwell that fouls the adapter is a magwell you take straight back off.

Check the pin is seated fully. It is the only thing holding the part on, and a proud pin will catch on a holster mouth.

Frequently asked questions

Does it get in the way of a magazine extension plate?
No — the manufacturer lists the two as compatible, and the HPA M4 magazine adapter as well. That is the point of this version.

Will my holster still fit?
A magwell changes the frame profile at the bottom, so a tight moulded holster may need persuading or replacing. A more generous retention holster is usually unaffected.

How much does it actually help a reload?
It guides the magazine the last few millimetres, which is where fumbles happen under pressure. On a range it is marginal; in a game with gloves on it is not.

Is it Marui-specific?
It is cut for the Marui Hi-Capa frame. Clone frames vary, so ask us about yours rather than ordering hopefully.
