CYMA CM009B M16A1 — a full-metal, Platinum-internal recreation of the Vietnam-era M16A1. The classic A1 with triangular handguards and a 3-prong flash hider, backed by CYMA Platinum internals and a MOSFET.

The M16A1 is the rifle that replaced the M14 in US service and defined the Vietnam era — slim triangular handguards, a fixed carry handle and that unmistakable early-AR silhouette. This CM009B is the Platinum-grade take: full-metal construction with genuine attention to the period details, so it works as well in a re-enactment loadout as it does as a serious skirmish rifle.

What's on the outside

It keeps the A1 furniture and a long 509mm 6.03mm tightbore barrel for reach, with the fixed carry-handle rear sight and a 3-prong flash hider completing the vintage look.

⚠ Battery & charger: M16-pattern AEGs carry the battery up front in the handguard, so you'll want a stick or nunchuck-format NiMH (8.4V or 9.6V) rather than a crane-stock pack — see the AEG upgrade range. If you run a LiPo on a MOSFET-equipped model, always charge it on a balance charger in a charging-safe bag.

Good to know before you buy

The Platinum internals are the difference here: a pre-installed MOSFET sharpens the trigger and makes follow-ups snappy, and the upgraded drivetrain (full breakdown below) is genuinely strong from the box. The MOSFET also lets you run a compatible LiPo if you want maximum response. Tokyo Marui V2 spec throughout keeps upgrades easy.
