A support weapon is a different proposition from a carbine. The barrel is long, the gun is heavy, and the bipod means you are expected to put it down and hold an angle rather than carry it at the ready all game. Played that way it is one of the most useful guns on a site; played like an assault rifle it is simply tiring.
The furniture is genuine wood rather than wood-effect polymer, which is the whole reason to pick this over the polymer variant. It weighs more, it marks differently, and every one looks slightly unlike the next because the grain does not repeat.
The length is doing real work here. A 640mm inner barrel is far longer than anything on an AK carbine, and combined with the bipod it is what makes the RPK a position-holding gun rather than a heavier AK.

Good to know
Two 750-round hi-caps come in the box, which is a lot of winding. Most people running a support gun seriously end up with a drum or an electric magazine instead, and that is worth budgeting for rather than discovering at the first game.
Wood needs a little care that polymer does not. Keep it dry where you can, and wipe it down after a wet day rather than leaving it in a damp bag.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between this and the CM052A? Furniture and pattern. This is the RPK-74 with real wood; the A is the RPK-74M with polymer furniture and a side-folding stock.
Does it use standard AK magazines? It ships with two 750-round hi-caps, and CYMA list a 150-round RPK mid-cap as the companion magazine. AK-pattern magazines are the family it belongs to, so check the fit of any specific magazine before committing to several.
Is the bipod included? Yes. The bipod is steel and comes already fitted.
What does the ZEUS unit do? It is CYMA's own V3 MOSFET and electronic trigger unit. CYMA state that it controls the operation of the mechanism and supports a faster trigger response.
