CYMA's GEN2 revision of the licensed MP5 is mostly about what sits inside. The Version 2 gearbox runs 8mm steel ball bearings, a 13:1 CNC gearset cut for short-stroking and a quick-change spring system, so the first upgrade you make does not start with stripping the shell.
The Kestrel V2 electronic trigger unit is the other half. Beyond a crisper, more repeatable pull it gives you adjustable pre-cocking, active braking to stop the piston in the forward position, and protection against a flat battery or a locked rotor.
Outside, this is the tactical configuration rather than the classic one. The body is metal with a nylon lower receiver, the polymer handguard carries three rail segments, and the muzzle offers both a 14mm counter-clockwise thread and a tri-lug mount. Three sling points are fitted, one of them a QD socket, and the cocking handle locks back to expose the hop-up.

Good to know
Read the Kestrel manual that comes with the gun before changing anything at a game. Pre-cocking in particular changes how the gun feels, and is best set once and then left alone.
A foregrip is supplied, which is unusual at this price and worth knowing before you buy one separately.
Frequently asked questions
What does GEN2 actually change? The internals. Ball bearings replace bushings, the gearset is CNC and short-stroked, the spring changes without splitting the shell, and a Kestrel ETU replaces the plain trigger contacts.
Does it take standard MP5 magazines? It ships with two 130-round mid-caps and takes the usual MP5 pattern. CYMA's own magazines are the safest match.
Is a battery included? No. The compartment is in the stock and the wiring ends in a T-connector, also sold as Deans.
Can I fit a suppressor? Yes. The muzzle is threaded 14mm counter-clockwise and also carries a tri-lug mount, so tracer units designed for the MP5 fit as well.
