An AR-10 is not a scaled-up AR-15. The receiver is longer, the gearbox is the long Version 2 rather than the standard one, and almost nothing in the shell interchanges with an M4. That matters when you come to buy spares, and it is the first thing to understand about owning one.
Semi-only is a deliberate choice rather than a limitation. A designated marksman rifle is built to place single shots a long way out, and removing the auto position takes away the temptation to spray a gun that was never set up for it. The trigger is a Kestrel V2 electronic unit specified for the long gearbox, which CYMA state supports a faster trigger response.
The furniture tells you how it is meant to be used. An aluminium M-LOK handguard takes a bipod or a hand stop out front with no adaptor needed, and an RIS rail along the top of the receiver carries the optic. Polymer iron sights are fitted, which is enough to zero with before glass goes on.

Good to know
Because this is a long Version 2 gearbox, a nozzle or piston bought for an M4 will not fit it. We list the long-gearbox parts separately for exactly this reason, so check the description before ordering a spare.
There is no full-auto position to unlock. If you want a rifle that can switch to automatic, this is the wrong model in the range rather than a gun to modify.
Frequently asked questions
Can it be switched to full auto? No. The selector has safe and semi only, and that is how the gun is built rather than a setting.
Will M4 internals fit? Not generally. It uses the long Version 2 gearbox, so nozzles, pistons and the shell itself differ from a standard M4. Buy parts listed for a long gearbox.
What is the difference from the older CM098A? The GEN-2 internals. CYMA describe the second generation as a reinforced gearbox with reinforced internal components and a MOSFET system; this one runs steel SR25 gears on 8mm bearings with a quick-change spring and the Kestrel V2 unit.
What magazines does it take? Two 170-round mid-caps are supplied. CYMA also list a 130-round steel SR25 and AR-10 magazine as the companion for it.
Can I fit a bipod? Yes, through the M-LOK handguard. The muzzle is also threaded 14mm counter-clockwise.
