The same short carbine, finished in tan throughout. Furniture, handguard and receiver all carry the tan colour rather than a black gun with tan parts bolted on, which is the difference between looking deliberate and looking assembled.

Colour is not only cosmetic on a gun this size. A tan finish disappears against dry ground, brick and sand-coloured interiors in a way black never does, and a short weapon is usually being used somewhere that one of those is the background. If your site is industrial or arid rather than deep woodland, this is the version to have.

Underneath it is identical to the black model. A nylon-reinforced polymer body keeps the weight near 2,300g, the whole gun is 625mm long, and the barrel is a 233mm tightbore at 6.04mm feeding through a rotary hop-up chamber that you can adjust without tools.

The electronics are the reason to look twice. A Falcon 3.0 unit sits behind the trigger with programmable burst options, a sensitivity setting, a binary mode and pre-cocking, all selectable without opening the gearbox.

Good to know

Tan guns show wear differently. Scuffs go lighter rather than shinier, which most people find looks better over a season, but a scratch through to the polymer underneath is more visible than it would be on black. Worth knowing rather than worth worrying about.

The kit in the box is the same as the black version: a set of folding sights, rail covers, a hand-stop, a steel hi-cap and a battery adapter lead. That is most of the first week's shopping list already covered.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same gun as the black one? Mechanically yes, identically specified. The difference is the finish, and the two carry different barcodes and are ordered separately.

Is the tan consistent across the gun? The receiver, handguard, grip and stock are all finished in tan. The barrel and the metal fittings stay dark.

How long is it with the stock extended? The quoted 625mm is the overall figure. The stock has four positions, so the length in use depends on where you set it.

Does it take a sling? Yes, two QD points on the handguard and another on the front of the stock.

⚠ Power up with the selector on SAFE. Double Eagle state plainly that this rifle must sit on SAFE as the battery goes in, because the control unit arms the moment it has power. Check the lever before the first connection of the day, every day.

💡 Titan Forge Airsoft tip: Tan guns look best with matching furniture rather than mismatched black accessories. If you are kitting this one out, start with the accessories range and pick colours deliberately.
