- description
Cutting an outer barrel down normally costs you inner barrel too, and with it a chunk of consistency. Double Eagle did not do that here. Both lengths in this family run a 229mm tightbore at 6.03mm, so the shorter rifle is a packaging exercise rather than a compromise on how it shoots.
What you actually gain is 65mm off the overall length and around 110 grams off the weight, which matters more than it sounds when you are working through a building with the gun up. At 535mm it turns inside a doorway without the muzzle leading you round the corner first.
Everything else is the family specification: licensed Noveske externals with engraved trademarks, metal upper and lower, an NHR-7 inch aluminium handguard slotted for M-LOK and railed where it needs to be, and a three-position PDW stock on ambidextrous controls.

Good to know
This is the cheapest gun in the Ghetto Blaster family, by a clear margin over the coloured versions of the same rifle. If the finish is not the deciding factor for you, it is the sensible one to buy.
The handguard is shorter than the one on the 10.5 inch model, so there is less rail to work with. Decide where your hand goes before you start bolting accessories to it.
Frequently asked questions
Does the short barrel cost me range? Less than you would expect. The inner barrel is 229mm, the same as the 10.5 inch rifle in this range, so the two shoot far more alike than their outer lengths suggest.
How much smaller is it than the 10.5? 535mm against 600mm overall, and roughly 110 grams lighter.
Is the licensing the real thing? Yes, EMG and Noveske, with the trademarks engraved into the receivers.
What magazines does it use? MWS pattern gas magazines. One 35-round aluminium magazine is supplied.
