A lever action asks you to move your support hand through a full arc for every shot. Do that in a corridor with a metre of rifle in your hands and you quickly understand why the shorter version exists. At 590 mm overall this one throws its lever without hitting the doorframe.
The numbers behind that are a 260 mm inner barrel and 2,340 g on the scales, against 320 mm and 3,040 g for the standard length. Seven hundred grams is the difference between carrying a carbine and carrying a rifle, and it is felt most in the last hour of a game day rather than the first.
Nothing else is given up. It is the same green gas single-shot action with no blowback, the same acceptance of G&G AR-pattern AEG uppers down to the hop unit and inner barrel, and the same magazine well that takes any standard M4 AEG stick. ORO S carries gold hardware, PLATA S silver.

Good to know before you buy
The S is the short model. If you were expecting the longer gun, the standard length is a separate listing with a 320 mm barrel.
A 260 mm barrel is short enough that barrel and hop quality start to matter more than they do on a longer gun. It is the first place to spend money if you want tighter groups.
Gold and silver are the only difference between the two options here, so neither is the better buy on paper.
Indoor sites often cap muzzle energy lower than outdoor ones. Since no velocity figure is published for this model, plan on chronographing before your first game rather than after.
The buttstock runs on a 1913 interface, so it comes off. Worth knowing if you want to shorten it further for a tight site — see our stocks range.
Frequently asked questions
How much shorter is it than the standard model?
340 mm shorter overall, 590 mm against 930 mm, and 700 g lighter at 2,340 g against 3,040 g. The inner barrel drops from 320 mm to 260 mm.
Does the shorter barrel cost me range?
A shorter barrel gives the BB less time under hop, so it is more sensitive to hop setup and BB weight. Set it up properly and the difference is smaller than people expect; set it up badly and it is larger.
Is the magazine the same as the long version?
Yes, a short 32-round magazine, and the well takes standard M4 AEG magazines either way.
Can I fit an AR buttstock?
The factory stock mounts on a 1913 rail interface, so anything built for that fits. Tell us what you have in mind and we will check it.
Which finish should I pick?
Whichever you prefer. ORO S is gold, PLATA S is silver, and the manufacturer lists identical specifications for both.
