G&G PDW-15 AR Honey Badger — 12in Full Metal AEG

The Honey Badger concept is a rifle that refuses to pick a lane. The 12-inch metal rail with its integrated mock suppressor gives you the sight radius and mounting length of a full carbine, while the PDW retractable stock collapses the whole thing down to something you can genuinely work a stairwell with. It is one gun covering two jobs, which is why the PDW-15 has stayed in G&G's range while flashier models have come and gone.

Internally it is better equipped than most guns at this price. A rotary hop-up — the design that adjusts evenly across the bucking rather than pressing on one point — feeds a 6.03mm precision tightbore, and the full metal gearbox runs full metal gears on 8mm metal bushings with a full metal-toothed piston. The motor is G&G's 25,000rpm high-torque unit, the same one they fit to the ARP9 and 556.

At 4.5lb it is light for a full-metal gun, and the receiver is enhanced full metal rather than the polymer you often find at this level. Controls are ambidextrous throughout — magazine release, fire selector and charging handle — with flip-up front and rear sights fitted as standard.

A MOSFET is fitted as standard, which protects the trigger contacts from the arcing that eventually burns them out and lets the gun run higher-voltage batteries safely. That is worth having on any AEG, and it means the gearbox is already set up for an electronic trigger unit if you later want programmable fire modes — a GATE TITAN drops in cleanly.
