The PTX 80 Round Mid-Cap is the spare magazine every PTX owner should carry. CNC machined from POM (polyoxymethylene) — an engineering-grade polymer with exceptional dimensional stability and low friction properties that make it the correct material choice for a precision magazine feed mechanism. POM holds tolerances that injection-moulded polymer cannot match, which is why GATE chose it over cheaper alternatives.
The critical specification is the feed rate: 50 BBs per second. The GATE PTX PULSAR S2 engine is capable of firing at extremely high cyclic rates, and the magazine has been engineered specifically to keep pace. At any rate of fire the PTX can produce, the 80rd magazine will feed without hesitation or double-feed. The 80-round capacity is well-matched to the compact profile of the PTX — it sits flush to the frame and maintains the pistol's clean external silhouette, unlike a high-capacity magazine that extends well below the grip.
The PTX ships with one 80rd magazine included. Most players running the PTX as an active sidearm carry a minimum of two spare magazines — one in the pistol, two on the body. At 80 rounds per magazine, three magazines gives you 240 rounds before a reload is needed, which covers the majority of engagement scenarios for a sidearm role.
