📖 New to HPA? This is an HPA rifle — it needs an external tank to operate. Read our complete HPA setup guide before buying.
⚡ Heretic Labs Article II — the untethered Article. Heretic Labs Tank Grip with integrated STORM Cat5 regulator means no external HPA line at all. 8" carbon fibre barrel. Compact, wireless, fast.

Heretic Labs was born as Wolverine Airsoft's skunkworks speedsoft division — a deliberate decision to develop a line of HPA competition guns free from the constraints of the milsim aesthetic. The result is the Article Series: pistol-format HPA rifles that reject everything non-essential. No buffer tube. No stock in the traditional sense. No charging handle. No weight that doesn't contribute to performance. Each Article iteration refines the formula further.

Built on the MTW-Spec platform, every Article accepts the same engines, FCUs, and electronics as the full MTW range. The INFERNO Gen 2 or XTS engine sits in an identically aligned receiver — Intrinsic Alignment is present on every Article. The carbon fibre outer barrel serves the double function of structural front end and ultra-lightweight alternative to a conventional handguard.

The Article II takes the Article I concept and solves its one dependency: the external HPA line. The Heretic Labs Tank Grip is a glass-filled nylon pistol grip with the STORM Category 5 regulator built in — you connect a small HPA tank directly to the grip, and the rifle becomes entirely self-contained. No line running to a chest rig or tank. No snag points. No drag. The complete HPA system is contained within the grip of the rifle.

The 8" carbon fibre outer barrel is slightly shorter than the Article I's configuration — the Tank Grip format is optimised for maximum compactness and the shorter front end complements the pistol aesthetic. The STORM Category 5 regulator in the Tank Grip is the same regulator used in the WRAITH X — one of the fastest and most consistent airsoft regulators available, specifically designed for the pressure range and flow characteristics of HPA airsoft systems.

🔧 Titan Forge Airsoft tip: The Article II is the most self-contained HPA speedsoft platform available — no line, no chest-mounted tank, no drag. The STORM Cat5 Tank Grip is the key: it makes the entire HPA system invisible. Tank life with a small 13ci HPA tank runs to approximately 700–900 shots depending on pressure. For most speedsoft sessions that's sufficient, but carry a spare tank for long events. Call us on 01494 911990 to discuss tank sizing for your playstyle.
