Heretic Labs is Wolverine Airsoft's speedsoft skunkworks — a division set up to build HPA competition guns without the constraints of a milsim look. The Article Series is the result: pistol-format HPA rifles that strip out everything non-essential. No buffer tube, no traditional stock, no charging handle, no weight that doesn't earn its place. Each Article sharpens the formula, and the IV is where it lands.
Every Article is built on the MTW-Spec platform, so it takes the same engines, FCUs, electronics and upgrade parts as the full Wolverine MTW range, with Intrinsic Alignment for consistent inner-barrel positioning. The genuine carbon-fibre outer barrel does double duty as the structural front end and a lightweight stand-in for a conventional handguard, keeping the whole gun fast to swing.
What sets the Article IV apart is the Tank Grip. The STORM Category 5 regulator is built into the grip and the HPA tank mounts straight into its base, so there is no external line and no separate regulator to buy or snag in a doorway. It is the same line-free architecture Heretic pioneered on the Article II, taken to its most complete form here.
The rest is the full competition package: an INFERNO XTS engine (extended stroke, stainless nozzle, one-piece Delrin baffle and the QUAKE recoil port), a BLINC Bluetooth FCU for wireless control of RPS, dwell, burst, fire mode and live chrono readings from the Wolverine app, and a CNC speed trigger with a low-friction bearing and three-point travel adjustment. An Acetech Bifrost BT tracer comes pre-fitted in the 8-inch carbon barrel — chrono display and automatic dwell tuning included — so it is ready for night play out of the box.
What's on the outside
The Article IV wears its function openly. The front end is an 8-inch genuine carbon-fibre outer barrel that doubles as the handguard and keeps it forward-light. The base of the grip is the Tank Grip itself, with the STORM Cat5 built in and the tank seating directly into it. A Picatinny stock adapter lets you run the brace or stock you prefer, the CNC speed trigger sits ahead of a bolt catch that locks open on an empty magazine, and the top rail carries the Heretic Labs engraving.

Good to know before you buy
This is an unusually complete build out of the box: the tracer and a PTS EPM-MTW magazine are already included, and because the Cat5 regulator is integrated there is no line or separate regulator to source. You still need a compact HPA tank to seat in the grip and a 7.4V mini LiPo for the FCU (neither is included).
It is also offered as a Midnight Black (Semi-Only) build for semi-only sites and tournaments — message us if you need that specification. Being MTW-Spec, it takes the full range of MTW upgrade parts down the line.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need UKARA to buy this?
Yes. This is a realistic imitation firearm (RIF), so a UKARA entry or another recognised defence is needed — we check it at the point of sale.
Do I need an HPA line and a separate regulator?
No. The STORM Cat5 regulator is built into the Tank Grip and the tank mounts directly in the grip, so there is no external line or extra regulator to buy. You just add a compact HPA tank and a 7.4V mini LiPo.
Does it come with a tracer?
Yes — an Acetech Bifrost BT tracer is included and pre-fitted in the 8-inch carbon barrel, with a live chrono display and automatic dwell tuning. No separate tracer or adapter is needed.
How is the Article IV different from earlier Articles?
It is the only Article that runs the full INFERNO XTS engine, BLINC Bluetooth FCU and Tank Grip together — the most specified build in the range.
UKARA: As a realistic imitation firearm, this product requires UKARA registration or a valid defence. We verify at checkout. Register by playing 3 games over 56+ days at Skirmish Wycombe Airsoft.
