The Crazy Jet inner barrel is Maple Leaf's flagship precision barrel design. The bore is 6.04mm — slightly looser than a true tightbore — which sounds like a downgrade until you understand what the barrel does at the muzzle. Channels machined near the muzzle take the high-pressure air that would otherwise spill past the BB and organise it into a sleeve of moving air travelling with the round. The BB leaves inside that sleeve rather than into open turbulence, which is where the gain in repeatability at longer distances comes from.

The trade-off versus a 6.02mm tightbore is interesting. Pure tightbore designs reduce air escape inside the barrel, which gives more energy transfer per shot. Crazy Jet's 6.04mm bore lets a small amount of air escape past the BB inside the barrel, but recovers the loss at the muzzle with the air-cushion effect. The Crazy Jet generally wins on long-range consistency and BB tolerance (less prone to jamming on slightly out-of-spec BBs), while a true 6.02mm wins on outright muzzle velocity and accuracy of the very first inch of flight. Both are improvements over a stock barrel.

The Maple Leaf 60° Autobot bucking is pre-fitted — the same gear-pattern ridge bucking that comes on the tightbore version of this chamber set, with consistent hop application across the magazine. Combined with the air-cushion barrel and the Maple Leaf CNC chamber, the complete kit is a measurable upgrade to GBB pistol consistency, particularly noticeable on heavier BBs (0.28g+) and at longer engagement distances.

Compatible with the same broad G/EU pistol family as the tightbore version: TM, WE, AW, Vorsk, Army Armament, and the rest of the G/EU-pattern GBB market. Three lengths cover sub-compact through long-slide builds. The Crazy Jet is the better choice if you're using mid-weight BBs (0.25–0.28g) and care about consistency at 25m+; the tightbore version is the better choice if you're running heavier BBs in tightly controlled conditions and want maximum muzzle velocity.

Good to know before you buy

The looser bore is deliberate, not a compromise. 6.04mm lets a little air past the BB inside the barrel, and the muzzle channels then put that air to work steering it. If the number alone bothers you, the 6.02mm tightbore version of this set is the one to buy instead.

It is kinder to ammunition than a true tightbore. A slightly out-of-spec BB that would snag in a 6.02mm bore usually passes here, which matters if you shoot a lot of rounds through a gas pistol in a day. Good ammunition still pays, and our ammo range has the grades worth using.

Judge it past thirty metres. The air-cushion effect works on the BB as it leaves the muzzle, so the gain shows up downrange rather than on a short indoor lane. Shoot a group at the distance you actually engage at before and after fitting.

Is the bucking included?
Yes, the 60 degree Autobot comes fitted. That is the general-purpose hardness for gas pistols. You can change it later without touching the chamber or the barrel.
