- description
The feed tube is the channel that routes BBs from the magazine into the hop-up chamber. In the standard MTW, it's a polymer component — functional and sufficiently precise at factory tolerances, but not machined to the tightness of aluminium. The Maxx Advanced Feed Tube V3 replaces it with a CNC aluminium unit machined to tighter tolerances, producing a more consistent BB path and reducing the micro-variation in feeding angle that can contribute to inconsistent hop-up engagement.
It matters for longevity as much as consistency: aluminium doesn't flex, wear, or deform under the repeated impact of BBs entering the chamber at speed the way polymer gradually does over thousands of cycles. On a high-RPS HPA build running at sustained cyclic rates, the cumulative wear on a polymer feed tube is measurable over time. The Maxx CNC unit holds its tolerances shot-to-shot for the life of the platform.
