Adjustable pre-travel, adjustable over-travel, titanium pin. A CNC machined aluminium speed trigger for Version 2 gearboxes in M4 and M16 pattern AEGs, with multiple adjustment points, a titanium main pivot pin and rubber pads. Style E, silver.

The standard plastic trigger in a Version 2 gearbox has a long dead stretch before it does anything and more travel after the switch has closed. On a mechanical gun that is merely vague. On a gun with an electronic trigger unit it is worse than vague, because every millimetre of over-travel is the trigger pushing against a microswitch or a board that was never meant to take it.

This trigger has screws for both. Set the pre-travel so the switch closes almost immediately, set the over-travel so the trigger stops the moment it has, and what you are left with is a short, crisp, repeatable pull. Maxx list it as fully compatible with the GATE TITAN module for Version 2, which is the combination most people fitting one of these are running.

The build is the reason it costs what it does. The body is machined from a solid block of aircraft grade aluminium, the main pivot pin is titanium rather than steel, and there are relief cuts so it functions in most Tokyo Marui spec AEG and HPA systems rather than just the one gearbox it was drawn around. Aluminium and rubber pads give the face some grip.

Good to know before you buy

Version 2 only. A Version 3 gearbox has a completely different trigger, and so do most non-M4 platforms. If you are not certain which your gun has, tell us the model and we will tell you — the rest are in our triggers section.

Set the over-travel screw properly or you have wasted the money. The whole argument for this trigger over a plastic one is protecting the switch and shortening the pull, and both live in that one adjustment. Do it with the gearbox open and a multimeter if you have one.

It is a trigger, not a trigger unit. This is the mechanical blade. If you want programmable modes and burst control you need an electronic module as well, and the gearbox internals are in our gearbox parts section.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work with a GATE TITAN?
Yes. Maxx list it as fully compatible with the TITAN module for Version 2 gearboxes, and protecting that board from over-travel is one of the main reasons people fit one.

Does it fit an HPA engine?
Maxx state it is designed with relief cuts to function in most Tokyo Marui spec AEG and HPA systems. Tell us which engine you run and we will confirm before you order.

Is silver just cosmetic?
Yes. Style E is the shape; the finish is a choice. The same trigger is on the shelf in black if you would rather it disappeared.

Will it make my gun shoot faster?
It will not change the rate of fire. It shortens the pull and makes the release consistent, which is what you actually feel on semi.

⚠ Do not fit it with the gearbox closed. Trigger geometry has to be checked against the switch or the board before the shell goes back together. Assembling first and adjusting later is how trigger blades get bent.
