A twisted helix cut where a plain tube usually goes. Seven finishes, two lengths, and an O-ring that keeps the inner barrel properly centred.

Outer barrels are usually the least interesting component on a build — a tube that holds the inner barrel and threads a muzzle device. The Helix is Monk's argument that it does not have to be. The spiral cut runs the length of the barrel and reads as machined detail rather than a printed effect, and it comes into its own under a skeletonised hand guard where the barrel is visible along most of its length.

Behind the styling there is a functional detail worth knowing. Monk fit an O-ring inside the assembly that holds the inner barrel centred and under light tension. A loose inner barrel that can drift off-axis is a genuine source of inconsistency, so this is a real improvement over a plain tube rather than a decorative one.

It pairs deliberately with Monk's own skeletonised hand guards — the Vayu among them — but the effect works under any open rail where the barrel shows.

Which length do I need? It follows your hand guard. A 6in guard wants the 6in barrel and a 7in guard the 7in — measure the guard rather than the gun.

Will it fit a Wolverine MTW? The MTW uses M4-pattern hardware, but Monk do not state MTW fitment for this barrel and we are not going to assert it. Ask us and we will check before you commit.

Do all the finishes cost the same? Not quite — supplier cost varies across the range, so check the figure against the finish and length you have selected.

Is the finish anodised or coated? Not published. We would rather say so than describe a process we have not confirmed.
