- description
Ranger green sits between olive drab and grey, cooler than the former and warmer than the latter. Its practical advantage is that it holds its colour: olive drab tends to drift towards khaki after a couple of summers in strong sun, whereas ranger green stays close to where it started. Against both green and brown backdrops it stays neutral.
The belt is Milspec Tailor’s Gen 3 pattern throughout. A 1.75″ rigid duty belt carries the load and keeps a holster from rolling; a laminate sleeve laser cut with attachment slots wraps over it and is kept from turning by a Velcro locating strap. Remove the sleeve and the belt reverts to a plain rigid belt you can wear through trouser loops.
The narrower core is what makes this belt liveable under armour. There is less width to catch between a plate carrier and the top of the hip, which is the specific point where a 2″ war belt starts to dig in after the third or fourth hour.

Frequently asked questions
Ranger green or OD green? Ranger green is cooler and greyer, and fades less. OD is warmer and browner. If your other kit is one of the two, match it; if you are starting out, ranger green ages better.
Will it work under a plate carrier? That is largely what the 1.75″ width is for. It is noticeably more comfortable under armour than a 2″ belt.
Is the sleeve replaceable if it wears? It is supplied as part of the belt rather than as a spare, so treat the pair as one item.
