A 40mm shower shell is the ammunition your launcher actually fires. You charge it with green gas, load it with BBs, drop it into the launcher and pull the trigger — the shell vents through its internal barrels and throws every BB downrange at once in a spreading cone.
This 72-round version is the smallest in Nuprol's range and the sensible place to start. Seventy-two BBs is still more than most players put out in a single burst, and the lower capacity means less gas per fill and a quicker reload between engagements.
It is fully reusable. Refill it, re-gas it, and it goes again all day, which is why shells are a one-off purchase rather than a consumable like pyro. It fires by pressing the button on the base, so it also works as a hand-thrown area device if your site permits it.
