Nuprol PMC Essentials Soft Rifle Bag — the straightforward, well-priced way to get a rifle to site in one piece.

Not every rifle needs a flight case. For the regular run between house, car and safe zone, a padded soft bag does the job at a fraction of the cost and weight, and the Essentials is Nuprol's no-nonsense version of exactly that.

The rifle compartment stands twelve inches tall and is lined with soft material, with extra padding across the front and rear faces where knocks actually land. Two Velcro strips inside hold the rifle still rather than letting it slide about, and the twin zips join together to take a padlock through an 8mm eyelet.

Five Velcro-sealed exterior pockets swallow magazines, BBs, batteries and the usual pile of consumables, and the whole thing is cut from durable 600D polyester with a simple sturdy handle. Four lengths and five colours cover most builds and most tastes.

Check your rifle length before choosing a size, and remember a suppressor or extended stock adds inches. If you need to carry two rifles or want heavier all-round padding, the PMC Deluxe is the step up.

How much protection does it give?
Enough for normal transport — it absorbs knocks and keeps the rifle from moving. For crush protection or air travel you want a hard case.

What size do I need?
Measure the rifle from muzzle to stock and add a couple of inches. Bags run 36, 42, 46 and 54 inches.

⚠ Transporting a RIF: under UK law a realistic imitation firearm carried in public must not be visible or readily accessible. A cased rifle in the boot of your car is fine; a rifle slung over your shoulder in the street is not. Any closed case satisfies this — the choice between hard and soft is about protection, not legality.
