Most M4s leave the factory on a stock chosen for cost. It adjusts, it locks, and it gives you a thin ridge of plastic to put your face against. Changing it is one of the cheapest things you can do that you notice on every single shot, because where your cheek sits decides whether the sight picture is the same twice in a row.
The AXE shape is a deeper, squarer profile with a broad comb and a defined shoulder pocket. That means a repeatable cheek weld with a red dot and, more usefully, a stock you can still get a face onto when you are wearing a lower mesh shield or a helmet with ear protection, which is where a thin factory stock stops working.
It is a direct swap onto a standard buffer tube rather than a kit, so there is nothing to modify. Pull the adjustment lever, slide the old one off the back, slide this one on, and the gun is done before the kettle has boiled.

Good to know before you buy
Measure your buffer tube before you order. Nuprol state most M4 tubes, and most is not all — the commercial and mil-spec diameters differ by a couple of millimetres and some budget guns use neither. A quick caliper check saves a return.
It is tan, not coyote or dark earth. Tan parts from different brands rarely match each other exactly, so if you are building a two-tone gun it is worth putting the parts side by side rather than ordering blind. The black version of this stock is listed separately.
Check what your battery lives in. A crane stock carries a pack inside it; a slimmer stock may not. If your battery currently sits in the stock, work out where it is going before you take the old one off — packs are in our battery section.
Frequently asked questions
Will it fit a gas blowback M4?
Nuprol state the stock suits both AEG and GBB platforms, which is a question of the buffer tube rather than the gun type. If yours takes a standard M4 stock, this goes on it.
Does it hold a battery?
Nuprol do not publish an internal capacity for this stock, so do not plan a build around it holding a pack. Ask us and we will tell you what is physically in there.
Is the tube included?
No. This is the stock only, and it slides onto the buffer tube already on your gun. If you need a tube as well, tell us what receiver you have.
How much does it add to the back of the gun?
Three hundred and fifty grams, which is a little more than a basic adjustable stock. On a muzzle-heavy build that is a help rather than a cost.
