- description
Three hundred lumens is the useful band for airsoft. It is enough to wash out a doorway and pick a figure out of a treeline, and not so much that it bounces off a close wall and blinds the person holding it. Indoors at night it is the difference between clearing a room and guessing at it.
The switching is the part worth paying attention to. The tail cap works from either side, so the light does not dictate which hand you support with, and the pressure pad unscrews entirely. Leave it on and you get momentary light under a thumb on the handguard; take it off and you have a tidier body with nothing to snag on a sling.
It takes two CR123A cells rather than one, which is where the extra body length comes from. Two cells hold the output up for longer before it starts to sag, which matters more at a night game than peak brightness does.

Good to know before you buy
Cells are not included. It needs two CR123A lithium cells, and they are not the sort of thing most people have in a drawer. Order them with the light or check the consumables section before a night game.
The pad is optional, not permanent. It unscrews from the tail cap, so you can run the light bare on the rail and put the pad back on when you want momentary switching under your support thumb.
Mount it so the beam clears your suppressor. A light low on a short rail will throw a crescent shadow off a fat outer barrel or a can. Push it forward or sit it higher until the beam is clean, which is easier to check against a wall indoors than in the dark.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between this and the shorter NX600?
Body length and cell count. The long version takes two CR123A cells where the short one takes one, which holds the output up for longer. Both mount the same way.
Can I run it on a pistol?
It is designed for a 20mm rifle rail. A pistol with a full-length accessory rail will usually take it, but the body is long enough to look odd and to foul a holster.
Does it strobe?
Nuprol do not list a strobe mode for this light, so treat it as constant and momentary only. Most sites would rather you did not strobe anyway.
Is tan the same light?
Yes. Identical unit, different anodising, and both colours are on this page. Pick the one that disappears against your rifle rather than the one that matches your boots.
