Nuprol SHADES Mesh Eye Protection — mesh cannot fog, which is the entire argument for it. The small fit, in five colourways.

Fogging is the single most common reason people take their eye protection off mid-game, and taking eye protection off mid-game is how people lose eyes. Lens goggles fog because warm breath meets cold glass; mesh does not fog because there is no lens for moisture to condense on.

That makes mesh the honest choice for anyone who runs hot, plays hard, or has spent a game day repeatedly wiping a lens with a glove. It is also considerably cheaper than a good anti-fog goggle.

The trade-off is worth stating plainly: mesh slightly reduces clarity, and a direct hit at very close range can in rare cases push mesh or fragments through. Most UK sites accept mesh, but a few require full-seal lenses — check yours before you travel.

This is the small fit, which suits narrower faces and works better under a helmet than a bulky goggle.

Good to know before you buy

Mesh cannot fog, which is its whole purpose. In exchange you accept slightly reduced clarity, and a small residual risk from very close-range direct hits — some sites therefore require full-seal lens protection instead. Check your site’s rules before you rely on it. If you wear prescription glasses, the Battle Visor RX with an insert frame is the better route.

Frequently asked questions

Will my site allow mesh?
Most UK sites do, but some — particularly indoor CQB venues — require full-seal lenses. Always check before you travel rather than after you arrive.

Does mesh really never fog?
Correct. There is no lens for moisture to condense on, so it cannot fog regardless of how hard you are working or how cold it is.

What is the downside?
Slightly reduced clarity compared with a clear lens, and a small residual risk from a direct hit at very close range. That is the trade you are making.

Small or large fit?
Small suits narrower faces and sits better under a helmet. We also stock the PRO mesh in a large fit.

Can I wear glasses under them?
Not comfortably. If you wear prescription glasses, look at the Battle Visor RX which takes a prescription insert.

Eye protection is mandatory at every UK site. Confirm your site accepts mesh before relying on it — a minority require full-seal lenses, particularly indoors. Never remove eye protection outside a designated safe zone.
