📖 New to HPA? This runs on external high pressure air — it needs a tank and a line before it will fire a shot. Read our complete HPA guide before buying.
Planet Eclipse A1R — thirty years of tournament marker engineering, pointed at a 6mm bore. Built-in regulator, OLED menu, tournament lock, ten debounce levels and a drivetrain that lifts out by hand. None of that is normal here.

Planet Eclipse have spent three decades building electro-pneumatic paintball markers, and the A1R is the first time that parts bin has been aimed at airsoft. The specification gives it away: a POPS push-on purge air mount, an SMC pilot solenoid driving a custom three-way, a trigger on a pair of instrument ball races with four adjustment points, a full OLED heads-up display, a tournament lock on the board and ten selectable debounce levels. Those are competition-marker features and they rarely turn up on something that fires BBs.

The one that changes what you have to buy is the built-in HPR regulator. On a normal air build the regulator is a separate box between tank and gun, and it is both the most important purchase and the easiest to get wrong. Here it is inside the gun, with the velocity adjustment on the outside, so setting the gun up is turning a screw rather than specifying a component.

Power is two AA batteries. Most electro HPA guns want a small LiPo on a JST plug — something to charge, forget, and eventually ruin by over-discharging. Two AAs live in a pocket. The frame talks to the body over a wireless interface, so there is no loom between the two halves to pinch or break either.

It arrives set up rather than needing a shopping list: a 182mm ported barrel, a G&G green bucking with a custom Omega-style tensioner and two adjustable lip-tension systems, fibre optic sights front and rear on M-Lok, and an externally accessible ambidextrous hop wheel you can reach mid-game. The Micro Gamma drivetrain then lifts out as one assembly, by hand, with nothing undone first.

Good to know before you buy

You still need air. An air tank and an air line are not in the box, and the gun will not fire without them. The regulator you would normally buy alongside them is already inside this one — tell us your tank and we will confirm what you need.

No magazine is supplied. Planet Eclipse are explicit that the one in their photographs is illustration only, so add M4 AEG magazines to the order.

Velocity is a setting here rather than a figure on a box, which means your site limit is something you dial in and then prove over a chronograph.

All five finishes are realistic and there is no two-tone A1R, so every variant needs a defence. If you do not hold one yet, our two-tone guns are the place to start.

Two things are deliberately not included: the Micro-B cable for the full E-Portal software, and the tool for the secure barrel cap. The E-Portal Lite app needs neither — it works over Bluetooth.

This is a pre-order. Our supplier is quoting January 2027, so plan for a wait rather than a quick despatch, and we will confirm a date with you before anything is taken.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate regulator?
The regulator is built into the gun, with the velocity adjustment on the outside, so you are not specifying and buying one separately as you would on a normal air build. What you do need is a tank and a line. Tell us what tank you are running and we will confirm the setup before you order.

Do I need a LiPo?
No, and it is one of the nicer things about it. Two AA cells run the board and the solenoid, so there is no charging ritual before a game. Our battery range covers them, and so does any supermarket.

What is POPS?
Push On Purge System, Planet Eclipse’s own air mount. It bleeds the trapped air out as you unscrew the bottle, so you are not fighting a pressurised thread or having to empty the gun by firing it dry.

Will my existing M4 magazines fit?
That is the intent — Planet Eclipse specify most popular airsoft AEG, M4 and AR-pattern magazines, and the release is AEG AR-style. "Most popular" is their wording rather than a guarantee, so tell us what you run and we will check it.

What FPS does it shoot?
Whatever you set it to. Planet Eclipse publish no velocity or energy figure for the A1R on either their brand site or their own shop, and we are not going to invent one. On air the number is yours to choose and yours to prove at the chrono.

What is binary mode?
A shot on the trigger pull and another on the release. It is a competition mode carried over from the marker side, and like the other modes it may be restricted depending on where you play, so check your site’s rules.

Can the drivetrain really come out without tools?
Yes. The Micro Gamma unit is built to lift out whole, by hand, as one assembly. That is a different proposition from stripping a gearbox on a kitchen table.

⚠ Velocity is adjustable on the gun. That is convenient and it cuts both ways — anyone can turn it up. Chronograph after every adjustment and again at the site, and know your limit before you touch it.
⚠ This is a realistic imitation firearm. All five finishes are realistic, so each one needs a valid defence and a buyer aged 18 or over. We accept UKARA and a range of other schemes and site memberships — our accepted defences page lists them, and we check before despatch.
💡 Titan Forge Airsoft tip: Buy the tank with the gun, not after it. A built-in regulator removes the part people usually agonise over, which makes bottle size and fill access the only real decisions left — and those are the ones that decide how long you stay on the field. Our air tanks and tech service will sort it with you.
