Most HPA engines trade one dependency for another. You lose the gearbox but gain a battery, an FCU and a loom of wires — and on a wet day in a British wood, those are the parts that let you down.
The Kythera removes them. It runs a fully mechanical trigger and valve system, so there is nothing to charge, nothing to program and no electronics to get damp. What you keep is the consistent velocity and air efficiency that made you look at HPA in the first place.
It is a closed-bolt design, which gives a more traditional and tactile trigger than an electronic engine. That matters most to people building semi-locked DMR or marksman platforms, where the shot is deliberate and the trigger feel is part of the point — and it is the reason a lot of players choose this over a solenoid engine they could tune more finely.
Three variants cover the common gearboxes: V2 for M4 and M16 platforms, V2.5 for the JG SR-25, and V3 for AK.

Good to know before you buy
Mechanical means the tuning is mechanical too — you do not get the dwell and ROF programming of a solenoid engine. That is the trade, and for a semi-focused build it is usually the right one.
You will still need a tank, a regulator and a line, but no battery and no charger.
Note that some Kythera systems are model-specific and do not use the standard numbered nozzles — check with us before ordering nozzles separately.

Does it really need no battery?
