The usual route onto air is to buy a gun, buy a conversion kit, then take the gearbox out and hope you put it back together properly. This skips all of it. The PolarStar JACK is fitted at the factory, so what arrives is a working air rifle and the only things left on your list are the air itself and a small battery.
The JACK is the engine most people land on, and for good reason: there is no gearbox, no motor, no gears and no piston, so the parts that normally wear out are simply absent. Pull the trigger and it fires, with no spin-up delay. Semi and full auto are both on the selector, and you can dial the pull to taste.
Poseidon have wrapped it in a nylon and polymer M-style body built for being dropped rather than photographed, with a vertical trigger, a batwing charging handle and an ambidextrous selector. A 220-round M4 mid-cap is in the box, and the well takes any standard M4 AEG magazine.
Pick black if you hold a defence, or dual tone if you do not — the two are the same rifle underneath.

Good to know before you buy
Three things are not included and the rifle will not fire without them: an air tank, a regulator and an air line.
The engine also wants a little LiPo on a JST plug to run its electronics. It is a tiny cell that hides in the furniture rather than a full AEG pack — our LiPo range covers it.
Velocity on an air rifle is whatever you set at the regulator, which means your site limit is a setting rather than a specification. Chronograph it before every game day.
Poseidon build this chassis with their own mechanical engine as well, and the figures they publish for muzzle velocity and rate of fire describe that version. They do not apply to this one.
The dual tone option is the one to choose if you do not hold a defence yet. Our two-tone guns page explains where that sits.
Frequently asked questions
What else do I need before I can play?
A tank, a regulator, a line, and a little LiPo on a JST plug. If you are starting from nothing our HPA starter bundle puts the air side together in one go.
Why does an HPA rifle need a battery at all?
The JACK is an electro-pneumatic engine, so its solenoid and trigger board need power even though the shot itself comes from air. Fully mechanical engines exist and do not, but this is not one of them.
Poseidon quote 390 to 400 FPS. Will mine do that?
That figure is from their own mechanical engine build, not this one. On a JACK the velocity is whatever your regulator is set to, so the honest answer is that you choose it and then prove it over a chronograph.
Can I use my existing M4 magazines?
Yes. A 220-round mid-cap comes with it and the well accepts standard M4 AEG magazines, so your AEG magazines carry over.
Is the dual tone version the same rifle?
Mechanically yes. The difference is the finish, which is what decides whether it counts as a realistic imitation firearm.
