Everything inside an EPM1 that can wear out. PTS's own service kit for the EPM1 magazine: both springs, the spring guide and screw, and an Enhanced Magazine Follower. A mag that has gone soft on the feed gets rebuilt rather than binned.

Mid-cap magazines fail in a predictable way. The spring tires, the follower picks up a burr or a bit of a broken BB, and the mag starts leaving the last ten or fifteen rounds sitting in the body. Nothing about the shell is worn out — the moving parts are.

This is the full set of those moving parts. One long spring, one short spring with its plastic connector, a spring guide with its screw, and a PTS Enhanced Magazine Follower. The springs are nickel-plated piano wire; the follower and connector are ABS, moulded in orange so you can see at a glance which parts in a stripped mag are the new ones.

It is a bench job rather than a field repair — you are taking the base off the mag and working inside it — but it is a short one, and it is the difference between a drawer of half-trusted magazines and a set you will actually put in a rig.

This is the EPM1 kit. PTS list a separate kit for the short EPM1-S, so check which mag you are rebuilding before you order.

Frequently asked questions

Will this fit my EPM1-S? No. PTS make a separate spring kit for the short EPM1-S. This one is the EPM1 part set.

Do I need any special tools? No. The magazine base plate comes off and the spring guide screw is the only fastener. A small cross-head driver and somewhere flat to work are enough.

How do I know it is the spring rather than the mag? Load the magazine fully, then hand-cycle rounds out of the lips. If the last handful will not lift, or the follower drags and stops, it is the spring and follower — the parts in this kit.

What is the Enhanced Magazine Follower? PTS's own follower design, supplied in orange ABS. It goes in as a like-for-like replacement for the one already in the magazine.

Is it worth rebuilding a mag rather than replacing it? That depends how many you have. A rebuild takes a few minutes and returns a mag to full capacity; a shell that is cracked or a set of feed lips that are chewed is past saving and wants a new magazine.

💡 Titan Forge Airsoft tip: Do the whole set in one sitting. If one magazine from a batch has gone soft the others are usually not far behind, and stripping five in a row is far quicker than stripping one now and one a month from now. Spare magazines live in Rifle Magazines, and the rest of the range is in PTS.
