The AAP-01 is probably the most tinkered-with pistol on a British site, and the G17 pattern is not far behind it. Both get stripped, upgraded and rebuilt constantly, which means the small gas-route parts inside them get handled far more than the manufacturer ever intended.
A percussion valve sits in that gas route and governs how cleanly a shot releases. It is a wear item on a gun that gets used hard, and it is also the part people lose on a bench halfway through a rebuild. Having a known-good spare is the difference between finishing a build on a Saturday night and waiting a week.

Will it change my velocity?
It should not meaningfully. A clean valve releases gas properly, which is about consistency rather than power. Chronograph after any work on the gas route.
Is the G17 fitment the same as an EU17?
The fitment we are given lists the Tokyo Marui G17 along with the AW Custom and WE guns. If yours carries a different maker’s name, send us the model and we will confirm it first.
