A clip-on lens cover only fits the sight it was cut for. This kit takes a different approach: the shields mount to the rail rather than the optic, so they stand in front of whatever sight you happen to be running and move across with you when you change it.
Two shields are supplied, which covers you for a replacement after a hit without a second order, or lets you protect a sight and a magnifier on the same rifle. Mounting to the rail also means you can set the standoff distance to suit the optic rather than being fixed hard against the glass.
It is the more flexible option of the two protectors we stock, and the sensible pick if you swap optics between builds.

Good to know before you buy
Because it mounts to the rail rather than the optic, you need rail space in front of the sight. On a short handguard with a lot already mounted, check you have room before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the clip-on lens protector?
The clip-on is cut for EOTech-style sights and attaches to the optic. This kit mounts to the rail, so it works in front of most sights and transfers between guns.
Why two shields?
One as a spare after a hit, or run both to cover a sight and a magnifier on the same rail.
Will it fit any optic?
It is not fitted to the optic at all, so it is far more flexible than a clip-on. What matters is having enough free rail in front of the sight to mount it.
