Fitting a quick-detach sling to a rifle that has no QD socket normally means buying two things from two places and hoping they fit each other. This is both parts, matched, in one purchase.
The mount clamps onto standard Picatinny or Weaver rail and provides the socket, so you can put your sling point exactly where you want it rather than wherever the manufacturer decided. The QD swivel is supplied with it, so the moment it is fitted you have a working attachment point and only need to clip a sling on.
Both parts are CNC-machined metal alloy, which matters more here than on most accessories. A sling mount carries the entire weight of the rifle and takes a sharp shock every time the gun swings on the sling — that is precisely where polymer parts fail.
