The stick is the default AEG battery format: a single solid pack that slides into a buffer tube, a crane stock centre tube, or the one-piece compartment in a handguard. If your gun has a space rather than two narrow side tubes, this is the shape you want.
Three decisions get you to the right pack. Voltage sets the feel: 7.4V (2S) is smooth and easy on the gearbox and the right default for a standard gun; 11.1V (3S) gives a sharper trigger and higher rate of fire but loads the drivetrain harder, so it belongs in a gun with a MOSFET and internals to match.
Capacity sets run-time and size together - 1150mAh for genuinely tight spaces, 1550mAh when you would rather not swap packs mid-day. Discharge is the third: most of the range is 20C, which is ample for a standard AEG, but the 1450mAh packs are 30C, giving the motor more current on demand for high-torque setups and heavier springs. The 7.4V 30C is a particularly good pick for a fast semi-auto build that stays on the safer voltage.
Finally, connector: Mini Tamiya is factory wiring on most AEGs, Deans is what upgraded guns are usually rewired to. Every capacity here comes in both, so you are never forced into an adaptor.
Which pack do I need?
| Specification | Detail |
|---|---|
| 7.4V 1250mAh 20C | Compact everyday 2S pack. |
| 7.4V 1300mAh 20C | A little more run-time on the same smooth 2S power. |
| 7.4V 1450mAh 30C | High-discharge 2S. 111mm long, so an M4 stock still collapses. The sleeper build's choice. |
| 7.4V 1550mAh 20C | The longest-running 2S option here. |
| 11.1V 1150mAh 20C | Compact 3S for very tight battery spaces. |
| 11.1V 1250mAh 20C | The balanced 3S choice. |
| 11.1V 1300mAh 20C | More 3S run-time without much extra bulk. |
| 11.1V 1450mAh 30C | The most capable pack here - high voltage and high discharge together. |

Good to know before you buy
Check three things: that your gearbox is rated for the voltage, that the connector matches your wiring, and that the pack physically fits. A stick will not go into a crane stock with hollow side tubes only - that needs a nunchuck.
Frequently asked questions
7.4V or 11.1V?
7.4V if the gun is standard or you are unsure - it is smooth and kind to the gearbox. 11.1V for a faster trigger, but only in a gun with a MOSFET and internals built for it.
What is the difference between 20C and 30C here?
Discharge rating - how fast the pack can deliver current. 20C is ample for a standard AEG. The 1450mAh packs are 30C, which suits high-torque motors and heavier springs where the motor wants more on demand.
Deans or Mini Tamiya?
Match what is in the gun. Factory AEGs are usually Mini Tamiya; rewired and MOSFET builds are usually Deans.
Will a stick fit my crane stock?
Only if the centre buffer tube is free. If your stock only offers the two narrow side tubes, you need a nunchuck pack instead.
How should I store them?
At around 3.8V per cell, in a charging-safe bag, somewhere cool. A pack stored fully charged for months loses capacity permanently.
