Mounting an optic on a Saiga usually means going up and over, and the result is a sight line noticeably higher than a natural cheek weld. You end up lifting your head to find the dot, which costs time on every target.
This top cover replaces the stock one and carries a rail along the top, bringing the optic down closer to a normal view. It is a straight swap rather than a modification.
Kross print it in PLA+ 2.0, which they describe as weather resistant with good impact resistance — their own caveat being that it is still a plastic part.

Frequently asked questions
Will it hold zero? It is a top cover, and on any AK-pattern gun a top cover mount moves more than a side mount does. For a red dot at CQB range that is rarely an issue; for magnified optics, think carefully.
Which rail standard is it? Kross do not publish a rail spec. Tell us what you are mounting and we will confirm before you order.
Is it as strong as the steel original? No, and Kross say as much — their words are “within reason, it is still plastic”. That is the trade for the lower sight line.
