The stock Wolverine MTW outer barrel is aluminium — functional and accurate, but heavier than it needs to be for a platform whose appeal is responsive handling. Replacing the OEM barrel with a carbon-fibre equivalent pulls measurable weight off the front of the rifle, which translates directly into faster target transitions and reduced fatigue across a full game day. The 7-inch length keeps the rifle in true CQB territory — short enough to swing freely in tight spaces, fast in and out of holster-style draws on chest mounts.
The carbon fibre tube is bonded to CNC-machined 6061 aluminium fittings at both ends. 6061 is the standard aerospace structural aluminium grade and handles the threaded interface to the MTW upper without deforming. Carbon's strength comes from its fibre alignment, which is excellent in tension and compression along the tube axis — exactly the loads an outer barrel sees. Lateral impact resistance is also strong.
Compatibility is specifically the Wolverine MTW alloy upper. The barrel is dimensioned for a precise fit on the MTW barrel-nut interface, so installation is a tool-up, swap, and torque job — no shimming, no compatibility detective work. Compatible with standard MTW inner barrels and hop chambers (the outer barrel doesn't change anything internal to the bore).
The 7-inch length is one of three sizes Strike Carbon produces for the MTW; a 10-inch version is also available for builders prioritising more sight radius or accessory mounting length. Pick the 7-inch for tight CQB, pistol-style PDW builds, or any configuration where compactness is the primary criterion.
